The course covers assessing the casualty, providing safety, accessing emergency services, and using resources to provide first aid, such as providing CPR and using a defibrillator, administering an autoinjector for anaphylaxis, administering asthma medication, assisting someone choking, using appropriate immobilisation techniques for envenomation, fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains, managing casualties with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
In this CPR course, you will learn these skills, in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, including using an automated external defibrillator (AED), how to rotate first aiders with minimal interruptions to compressions, and what to do if the casualty regurgitates or vomits.

G189 Site Safety Supervisor – REFRESHER
This course caters for those who have completed the full Supervisor course in the past. Through legislation, it is a requirement that Coal Mine Workers refresh their skills every five years.
The mode for this refresher is face-to-face through a trainer-supported environment and focuses on upskilling Risk Assessments and the various reports completed by those Supervisor roles.

This course will provide individuals with the skills and knowledge required to perform the duties of a supervisor relevant to operational roles within the Civil construction, Coal Ming, Drilling, Extractive and Metalliferous Mining Industries. Upon completion of this course, individuals will be able to carry out or assist in carrying out risk assessments in the workplace.

Pain Management
This course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills required to administer analgesics to provide pain management as part of a medically supervised first responder organisation. Personnel from emergency services, volunteer organisations or organisations that provide a medically supervised first aid service often require this unit.

Drug & Alcohol
(Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing)
The course applies to individuals who are involved in collecting specimens for drugs of abuse testing. It will provide individuals with the skills and knowledge required to confirm collection requirements, prepare client and equipment and collect specimens via urine and/or oral and breath testing following the special procedures that apply for drugs of abuse testing in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.

Advanced First Aid
This course provides practical simulated real-life situations to learn and gain the confidence to coordinate and manage a response and provide advanced first aid in line with legal, community and workplace considerations, Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and other Australian national peak clinical bodies until emergency services arrive.
Instruction on basic first aid and CPR will be provided, as well as treatments specific to advanced conditions, such as hypothermia or hyperthermia, head, neck and spinal injuries, using tourniquets and haemostatic dressings for life-threatening bleeding, and managing a casualty in shock.
